surviving burnout – coping when exhaustion takes over
If you don’t feel in control, expect more of yourself than you can give; feel exhausted unsupported and lack motivation, if you get bogged down in minutiae and no longer have a helicopter view of your work that allows you to be strategic or creative; if you have ‘normalised’ chronic symptoms like headaches, indigestion, insomnia, skin complaints or if your alcohol consumption has increased you may be in burnout.
Coaching for managing burnout would:
- give you the opportunity to pause, reflect and review
- identify ways for you to decompress that reflect who you are
- look at ways of managing your health issues
- identify and strengthen your coping mechanisms
- define and set boundaries around work and personal time
